Youths & Junior Squads

Twickenham Cycling Club Youth Squad was formed in 2004 in response to the demand from young riders wanting to get involved in training and racing on bikes.  The squad take part in various activities during the week and at weekends.

It has steadily grown over the last several years, and now has eleven riders among the ranks, many of the riders coming from local schools and the British Cycling Talent Team Programme.

Over recent years Twickenham has produced some great talents, notably Endura Racing's Sandy King who was selected for The British Cycling Olympic Development Squad (you can read Sandy's Blog here), Tom Snape who now rides for Sigmasport.co.uk, having spent 2 years riding for Team Cycling News.Com in Belgium, was recently profiled in Cycling Weekly, and Corrine Hall, part of Team Corridori, who has her eyes set firmly on that short trip across town in 2012!.

There are many events in the local area for Youth and Junior riders, throughout the summer on Monday night is Reading Track League, Tuesday night at Minet Park there is circuit racing and on Friday Night is Welwyn Track League.

Throughout the year there are Turbo session’s at the Twickenham club room and road rides on Sunday from Twickenham Green.

Here are the profiles of some members of the Youth and Junior Squad.
