Thanks to all the marshals for helping out over the last 3 weeks of Ottershaw racing, Doug and everyone involved were really pleased with the turnout of TCC marshals each week.

Special thanks to Des for his briefing and course knowledge as well as his roving marshal skills and of course Lisa and Martin Murray who signed the course each week as well as doing their flag waving duty The final day went well today and all those racing were really appreciative of TCC’s extraordinary marshalling skills and friendliness – we even got a mention in the winners speech.

TCC were well represented again with Mark Spindler, Bill Butterworth, Alex Toghill, Mike Joseph and George Kirkin all showing their stripes. Alex punctured on about the 2nd lap and showed his cyclocross potential by running back to us hoping we had a spare wheel. Luckily Harry happened to be cycling past and after a quick swap Alex was back in the bunch when they came back round. There was an early breakaway of 3 riders later to be joined by another 3 who held the peleton at bay for most of the race. Bill and Mark were seen to be attacking when they came past us at Kitsmead Lane. After 10 laps the course moved to the Staple Lane Hill circuit which took a few victims with Bill, Mike and finally Alex just losing touch with the main bunch. Great to see George and Mark finishing in the main bunch about 1-2 minutes behind the winning six.

A great days racing – in freezing conditions!
